Habit Reboot

One habit. Ten weeks. A few people who know you.

Habit Reboot is a calm way to change one habit. Commit for ten weeks, seal each day with a ten-second check the next morning, and move through four chapters, on your own or with a small private crew.

Most habit apps want you in them all day. This one asks for about ten seconds, then gets out of your way.

A morning in a reboot

How a day works

  1. 01

    Wake up to one question.

Every morning between 5am and 5pm, the app asks about yesterday. Did you keep your promise?

  2. 02

    Answer in ten seconds.

Did it or didn't, plus how you felt. Add one line for your future self if you like.

  3. 03

    Sealed. That's the day.

Once sealed, it stays sealed. Your journey fills in one dot at a time, and the app gets out of your way.

  4. 04

    Your crew sees it too.

Reboot with a crew and they see that you sealed and how you felt. Never your notes.

Four chapters

Ten weeks is long enough to need a map.

  • Weeks 1 and 2Starting OutThe decision is made. Now it's about showing up.
  • Weeks 3 and 4The GrindMotivation got you started. Discipline is what comes next.
  • Weeks 5 to 7Finding Your GrooveThe hardest weeks are behind you. What's ahead starts to feel like yours.
  • Weeks 8 to 10Second NatureThis isn't a habit you're doing anymore. It's becoming who you are.

The moments that matter

Quiet most days.
Big on the right ones.

Better together

A small crew.
Eight people, at most.

Invite people you trust by email to reboot the same habit alongside you. Each morning you see who sealed. If someone's quiet, you can send a nudge.

Your crew sees

  • Your name and the shared habit
  • Your day number
  • Whether you sealed yesterday, and your mood

Your crew never sees

  • Your reflections
  • Your check-ins and notes
  • Your note to your future self

Crews are invite only and stay small on purpose. Rebooting solo works just as well.

Why ten weeks

0 days.

A study at University College London (Lally and colleagues, 2010) found new habits took 66 days on average to feel automatic, and much longer for some people. Ten weeks gives you that whole arc, honestly.

21 daysThe popular myth. It comes from a 1960 book about surgery patients, not habit research.
66 daysThe average time for a new habit to feel automatic.
70 daysOne Habit Reboot. The whole arc, with room to spare.
